Change in Plans

Well.....my husband is on the road again. Literally!

As I type, I am speaking to him as he makes the drive from Edmonton to Calgary all by his lonesome for work. I will say it again,  I GOT INTO THE WRONG LINE OF WORK!!  lol

He travelled Monday morning to Edmonton so he can prepare to deliver a workshop on Tuesday and then drive himself to Calgary to deliver another workshop on Wednesday before flying back home. Drive himself! lol Quite an adventure for a man who has never been out West. He'll get it done though, without getting lost. Now, let me just say, he tried to be extra prepared. He travelled with our GPS from the car so that he would have something for direction. But, turns out that the GPS you purchase in the Eastern part of Canada doesn't work out West. Go figure! I'll have to look into that. Apparently, the farthest the GPS will take you is Saskatchewan. So, it was kind of a waste for him to bring it. Oh well. Change in plans! Now, we know. But, I have no concerns....Furman will find his way no problem. He is not a man to get lost! And...it looks like it is pretty much a straight shot.

So, I had this elaborate plan of what to do with myself while he was out of town and nothing really worked out. lol
First, I planned a sleepover with my daughter for Monday night forgetting I had an appointment that I had to go to, so had to cancel that plan with her. Hung out with my son for a bit after my appointment which was nice. Miss him! Pleasant change in plans.
Then, I planned a sleepover for Tuesday with her instead. Well, that didn't work out either. She cancelled on me with good reason, work. Money first! What I keep telling her right now. lol I'm not going anywhere. Get that money!! Another change in plans. Oh well.
When I got home from work, I decided to hit the road and go for a run. I had a planned destination based on a conversation Furman and I had several days earlier. I wanted to make an attempt to reach a certain road so that my Garmin 220 would tell me what the distance was from home. However, as I got closer to my destination I started to change my plan after looking at the elevation of where I still would need to run to get to the point I originally planned to reach. lol Noooo, wasn't ready for that tonight. I was on a roll and didn't want to mess it up. I hit a traffic light close enough and turned back. Guess I'll have to attempt the route again another time and find out exactly how far it is from home.

My legs are real tired now but I felt awesome while running. I swear I probably could have gone farther. But, after I made slight changes to my running plan I decided I would stop at exactly 11km - half of my half marathon goal. Proud of myself. But I wont tell you the time I ran because I'm still not quite where I need to be in my conditioning. Just not yet!

Now, I kick back and type while talking to my hubby for a bit while he drives across what is supposedly a real flat and boring route to Calgary. He still will not have the opportunity to see a Moose. lol I'll have to take him for a drive down East for that I guess.
Well, i'll stop typing here.
My husband has made it to his destination safely while I was typing and talking to him. I think I should get ready for bed now while he winds down. After all, he is two hours behind me due to the change in time zone.

I hesitate to make a plan for tomorrow to kill time after work till his flight gets in since my plans haven't quite been working out. Too many changes in plans. lol But, my idea is to maybe take myself to a movie. Been a while since I been to one. Whatever I do, I know I wont be driving home till its time to pick him up. Nope, too far. That would definitely be a waste of gas. I work closer to the airport where he will be coming in.

Anyways.....wishing you an awesome tomorrow.

Enjoy it!

Weeks of Peace

My husband got to travel to Medicine Hat, Alberta this week for a workshop with his job.
Medicine Hat!!  What on earth is in Medicine Hat?
Well he sure can't tell me because he didn't get to see anything really. lol But, he can say that he was there.
On the way back he stopped over in Calgary for a connecting flight.
He thought of me!
Got me a t-shirt!!  Love him!!

While he was gone, I had a sleepover with my daughter to celebrate her 19th birthday. We went to Red Lobster because that is where she wanted to go. She's got a thing for Shrimp. lol So, we stuffed ourselves and definitely enjoyed each others company.  I miss my mini-me!! Love her so much and so damn proud of how well she has done over the last year. Damn proud! Cause she went through a rough patch and came out of it with flying colors!

Other than that, the week was kind of quiet and enjoyable. It's amazing how an atmosphere changes at work when the toxic person is not around. It was hilarious to see how many other colleagues felt so at peace too. Thank you summer holidays! And, this coming week will be just as peaceful. But, kind of nervous for tomorrow. We are expecting some important news to be shared and just don't know if it's bad or good. Minds can create all kinds of scenarios when you don't know. And my oh my did my colleagues and I come up with a whole bunch. lol As long as I still got a job, I'm happy. So, we'll see. Nothing that I'm stressed about though. But, I got fingers crossed for a variety of reasons. We'll see.

Anyways.....I should stop writing because my hubby is almost home from a nice day at his second golf tournament. He has really gotten the opportunity to practice what he's been learning from the driving range and off YouTube. Soon, he can help me if he has the patience. lol

Wishing everyone an absolutely wonderful and blessed week.

It's Been A Few Weeks

Ok...Now this is officially the longest I have gone without blogging.

Part laziness....Part waiting and hoping that I'd have really good news to share that hasn't yet come to pass.
I was tempted, but at the same time didn't want to write what was going on for fear of jinxing myself.
Yup....something was going on that I was excited about of which my bubble has pretty much burst now.

I'm not going to give too too much information right now because I am still holding out slight hope that my ship will come in one day soon. Know what I mean? lol I've talked about ships before in a previous post so if you are a regular reader you might know what I am talking about.

What I will say is that several weeks ago my colleagues and I were presented with an awesome opportunity to shake free of something that has kept us in a type of bondage. An opportunity that would only be given to two people that either volunteered or were voluntold. Me, I didn't think I had a chance because a few of my colleagues were already interested in jumping ship. After all we have been going through the last year and a half, who wouldn't? But, I volunteered anyways, to make a statement.

Oh...and a statement was made!!  Believe you me!! Just wasn't by me! ROFLMAO

A big big statement was made by not only the amount of volunteers that were received to jump ship, but by who actually volunteered to jump ship. lol It was hilarious! While we totally believe that the opportunity was meant for and expected to be given to specific people...a monkey wrench was thrown into the plan when two volunteered who have been on our current ship for a long long time. It was all done undercover too! Brilliant! Almost like a Big Brother backdoor situation! Nobody had a clue. lol Oh...and they volunteered for the same reasons we were! Who knew? I couldn't have been more happy for them and giddy at the thought of how they did it. lol They did it on the sly, waiting for the very last minute to throw in their names...probably because they knew of a few others that were interested that were talked out of it. I think it came as such a shock to those who offered the opportunity in the first place. Like I said, we think the offer was intended for specific people but it just didn't work out that way. As a result, they were even made an offer to stay that they kindly refused. Maybe now, some will see the light we have been trying to shine on a situation.

So, while this opportunity passed me by I was ok with it. God knows it wasn't my time. And, I think that God has something better in store for me. I am just waiting on it and you know I will blog about it when that time comes. Can't wait! And I have been praying. In fact, i'm praying for a few people I know that are in a similar situation and need relief. God has a plan!

In the meantime, I've been doing what I usually do. Trying to get my run on. Keeping up with my pole classes and getting hooked on a new Netflix show. The Killing I've gotten through two seasons and I am totally hooked. I love investigative shows. It took two seasons to solve one crime and you couldn't guess who did what which is what I loved. They kept you guessing right to the very end. Furman...well he is still trying to learn the game of golf.

I did a photoshoot with Spinbuddies this weekend though. Katelyn Bradshaw Photography Cannot wait to see the photos. It's funny how after the photoshoot I started to think about all the poses I should have done. lol
Photo: Ready for tomorrow's photo shoot. Which pose you like better?
I remembered to do this one. The Butterfly!
Guess i'll have to save some poses for another photoshoot. But, I took a selfie (not something I do a lot of) and had my pole buddy take a shot of me in my outfit. Furman went shopping with me for something cute and this is what we found. I had to take a photo. Couldn't make him wait till the photos were ready. lol
Notice the black under my eyes for the complete character? Furman cut those for me from black duct tape. My outfit was a team effort. lol

Now, long weekend is over and it'll be back to work. The next couple of weeks will be awesome though - People are off on summer vacations. Furman....he'll get an opportunity to travel out west for his job. Can you believe this? I really did get into the wrong line of work. lol He'll get to visit parts of Canada I've never been to yet. Go figure! Getting CANUCKINIZED! (Ok, well not really...because he will be in and out) In the meantime, I'll have to stick to watching The Amazing Race Canada to see parts of Canada I've been curious about. lol We'll get there together one day.

I'll end here. Time for me to get back to my show. I've started Season Three which has started a new crime.

Wishing everyone an awesome week.

Lady Golfer - Ready to Join My Tiger

It's official.  I'm all set.  Ready to join my husband in learning this game of Golf!

A game that my husband has been told he is supposed to learn to get away from me, not to play with me. ROFLMAO

ANYWAYS.....After church today we stopped at our local Thrift Shop because Furman was trying to find a strap for his golf bag. So, he bought a new bag (without clubs) that came with a strap as well as a golf club pull cart.  Total=$12
While at the cash we noticed a few golf club sets. We've noticed this before but weren't sure if they were for sale because they were behind the counter. Why weren't they out on the floor?  So, I enquired.  Yup. They were for sale. So the cashier started looking for prices. But out of the three that were there, I had my eyes on a set in a red bag. Figures that he couldn't find the price for them so he advised that he couldn't sell them.
Lucky for us, another worker came by and he spoke to her about the missing price tag. Turns out that she found one. $40! I heard her say from a short distance away. No flipping way! I'm thinking.

Oh, but it gets better.... There was an added discount for some reason that dropped the price down to $10 for the entire set.  No lies! Immediately she made a joke with us and told us not to haggle her for a lower price. Lmao. You know I was getting them. I'd be crazy not to. START THE CAR!! START THE CAR!!
I needed a set to learn on before I decide to invest any serious money in the sport.
$10 Baby!!!
Next stop, Canadian Tire , where we bought a golf glove for my left hand since I am a right handed player. (Because I didn't know I already had two at home with some other golf gear I had in storage) For the record, it wasn't a special trip for the glove either. Lol Just something we happened to get while shopping for something else.

But now I'm all set to join my husband so we can learn together.

I'll add the clubs to the rest of the golf gear I just happened to have around the house that has never been used. Lol. Long story.

Nancy Lopez gear

Now check back with me because I am hoping I'm not going to be like young kids who have a passion for something for a short while only to move onto something else. Lol

Nawwwww....Lady Golfer in the making - Ready to join My Tiger! lol

Hope you all had a great weekend.
God Bless for the new week.
Thanks for reading.

My Tiger

So, after two days on the driving range with the first time ever being on Saturday, Furman hit the golf course to play a real game this week. Lol. He sure did!  What a go getter!

It was a Globe and Mail sponsored event at Eagles Nest Golf Course.

Lucky for him he was put in a foursome with three other women. Perfect! Women who were just as green as he is from what I understand. Good thing. And if you know Furman you know that he was thrilled with his team. Three women? lol

Now I can't give you any details on how his day at the golf course went because I wasn't there and wouldn't be able to accurately relay what he shared. But from what he shared, it was a fun day which is awesome. I am happy he had the opportunity to get out there. He learned a bit more about the game he's been so interested in of late. Maybe not a lot, but definitely a bit. Maybe now he can teach me. lol So, on his way home from the golf course he stopped at the driving range once again to practice what he just learned. That's my husband! When he jumps in something he jumps all in. Determined! He then hit the best shots he's hit thus far. I know because I was on the phone with him as I drove home from work. His excitement came right through the phone, which was cute since he wasn't in a position to jump up and down like I would have. Haha  So Excited

In between swings, he was telling me about the gifts he received from the tournament: Nike hat and Golf Shirt, Golf Course branded towel. Oh, and my wonderful husband even thought about me. He brought me a gift too. Well, really, it's for us. lol But hey, he thought about me. Love him!

He told me that it was something we could use that we probably wouldn't have bought ourselves. lol For the life of me, I couldn't figure out what it was. And when I walked in the house I walked right past the box. Sure did! Didn't notice it standing beside the television. lol I mean it's not like it blended in or anything. And, the box was big enough. Then Furman pointed it out to me. At first look my thought was "What the hell is it?" lol You know that Furman set me straight!

A Dyson Tower Fan!

Had no clue how it worked but it looked pretty cool. And that it was, cool, very cool, when Furman put it together. While he did that, guess what I did? Googled. hahaha I was curious how much this gift was worth.
Boy was I shocked!
Are people on crack? $449.99 for a fan? Oh man!
I know I must sound like a cheap ass but I really can't justify spending that kind of money on a fan. Unless of course I win the lottery or something. But i'm thinking that even then I probably wouldn't do it. I rather use the money to help someone less fortunate.

Ok. So now that you know that i'm a bit frugal. lol

Let me get back to My Tiger!!!

I'll quit here. It's getting late and i'm actually real tired tonight. Did my usual pole fitness class and then went for a short run. I need to start getting myself back in gear!
So i'm off to bed after I finish watching:

I'll close here by sharing a most recent photo taken of us at a fundraising event we went to last weekend. Clarendon College Alumni Association
Me and my sweetheart!!!

Project Fini

My wonderful husband woke up bright and early Saturday morning to put the finishing touches on his fence project - The Gate.

When I woke up and came downstairs, this is what I saw:
So I took the best seat in the house:
It came to a point where I thought he could use my assistance. So I hopped into action to hold the frame while he put it up.
 Voila!
Now, for the boards.
As you'll notice, one end is shaped. That's because Furman spent some time in the garage previously designing his gate top. Yup! And cutting away. Looks awesome I'd say! And, he didn't lose any fingers. Lol
As all the boards were put up we realized we had a slight problem - one board short of complete. So, off to Lowe's Furman went for that one board.

Then he had to shape it up like the others.
PROJECT FINI!!

Did I mention how proud I am of my husband?  PROUD Wife Damn proud.
He did an absolutely awesome job.

PhotoTo celebrate, we hit the driving range for the first time. Our attempt to take up a new sport. Lol.  We'll see how it goes. Lot harder than we thought. Time to YouTube for some lessons. Golf for Dummies Then again, Furman already got me a Golf for Women book to help get me started.  Might have helped if I looked through it before trying anything on the driving range. Lol I see a set of clubs in my future though.

Hope you had an awesome weekend everyone.
Now get ready for a blessed week!!
