I started this blog on January 31st, 2012.
Why Blog? Several friends and co-workers had queries about what was happening with Furman's intentions to move to Canada following our October 6th, 2011 wedding. After all, that was the intention...for HIM to move to Canada from Florida. I know...sounds crazy. lol Someone that had been reading my very first blog had recommended I start a new blog. I had never even thought about it. I didn't realize that my first blog experience was really blogging...and that I even had readers. lol
My First Blog Experience was during my wedding preparations. We had a Sandals/Beaches Wedding and I had decided to have a wedding website/registry. As I was putting it together, one of the options on the website was to have a blog. A blog? Yeah, an online diary of what I was doing and/or going through in terms of my wedding plans, etc. So, I thought it was an awesome idea since I like to write anyways. So, I blogged and shared my posts on Facebook. Updated with pictures, telling about where I was going and what I was doing, how I was feeling, etc. Had no clue if anyone was really reading what I was writing, but it sure made me feel better. lol I blogged right up until we departed to Negril Jamaica for our wedding. When we returned....the blog wasn't even a thought! It wasn't until I returned to work after getting married where I had people asking me when I was going to update my blog about the wedding and share pictures. Like I said...I never thought about the blog. Didn't know who was reading, if anyone. Oops! So...I had to return to that blog to finish it off about our wonderful wedding at Beaches Negril.
As I started off saying...people wanted to know more. They knew that I married an American and that we would obviously have a road ahead of us in arranging for his move to Canada. That's why blog!
History - Important to note too....I've always wanted to be a writer since I was little. I just never made the time. Started off writing a few times...never finished. Yet, I've been complimented many many times on my writing. Ie. Emails, letters, etc. At work, I've often been the one to send off the professional emails to customers and management because I've always had a way with words. lol Several can attest to that. hahaha I give part credit to my favorite Uncle who has always made me dig deeper when writing, at least in email. We used to exchange emails in which he'd respond within the body of my email, using a separate color making sure to address everything written that needed addressing. lol He taught me quite a bit. Always encouraged me to put my thoughts in writing whether it was for someone else or for my own personal reference and organization. Love him!
So, while I may not be coming out with the next Best Selling Novel...I've become quite content with blogging. Especially after having the loving support of my husband and the greatest of compliments from my mother!!
